Where are YOU now . . .

There have been times David Olsen (www.ncag.com & pictured right!) and I have had some long conversations about Barry Becker(pictured left, he's Dave's brother-in-law)! Plus we have shared many great memories about people from 1982-1985, and come to the same question "where are they now"? Post it! We want to here from you . . .name, email, life update and any shout-outs you want to give!

WHERE ARE YOU NOW ? ? ?

(FYI, the picture taken was from the recent summer www.ilovejamaica.org mission's trip)

Dave O, wow! I well remember the day in January 1982 you and Greg A. met me at the BWI Airport.

Remember, I called crab cakes, "fish cakes!"

What a journey! God is good to us all through the years.

I agree with you, when you said "I look forward to seeing you (PH Alumni) and reading your updates right here at our REUNION site!"

I remember the early 80's with the best of memories. I still cherish today the friendships made and the great move of God that captured each of our hearts.

Amen Paul B! It was more than just a Friday night gathering. There was (as the song we used to sing said), the "Spirit of the Living God falling fresh" and resting upon young men and women.

What is now interesting (with the years that have passed) what has been set in motion, and where people are today.

It’s great to see this blogg in existence. I was part of this wonderful youth group all through the 80’s until 1990 when I graduated from VFCC and went into full time ministry as a youth pastor in southern Maryland. What an impact Pastor Mark had on my life, (as well did Dr. D). It is a joy to reflect on all the friends I made over those years, Dave Olson, Greg Kiterage, etc… Even though, with time, we all went our separate ways, we took with us the things of God we learned and experienced in those Friday night meetings. I am senior Pastor now at Evangel Assembly of God in Aberdeen Maryland along with my wife Cheri and 2 year old son Ethan. It’s without a doubt that because of the relationship with Jesus Christ that I formed in those early years at Powerhouse that I am now in the ministry. It was in one of those youth meeting that I heard the call of God to ministry, and without hearing and following that call I would not have met my wife in Bible College, had my son, a “true” miracle, or have been used by the Holy Spirit in God's service. I only hope that one day someone just like me will be able to reflect on the blessing they received from our labor in ministry, as I reflect upon the blessing I received through the ministry of Pastor Baldwin, “Powerhouse”, and Pastor Mark. I want to encourage everyone to go to Pastor Jeff's website, http://www.evangeltoday.com/ and see what the Lord Jesus Christ has done and is doing in Aberdeen, Maryland.

Jeff reading your wonderful words, brought back to mind this verse, "Lord prepare me, to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true. With thanksgiving, I'll be a living sanctuary for You."

Hey everyone! Powerhouse was such an important part of my life back in the 80's as well. It is where my relationship with Christ really started to blossom. Friday nights were the times you were able to spend with great christian friends and worship God. That is where I met my wife Sherrie.
Then there was always eating out afterwards. I remember some of the places we went, Cosmocos, Friendly's, Howard Johnson's, and of course McDonald's.

We now have 4 children, Laura (13), Amy (9), Carrie (6), Jennifer (2). We live in Westminster and have 2 horses, 3 pygmy goats, 4 rabbits and a dog.
We just recently started attending the Westminster Church of God.

There were so many people that I'd love to hear "where are YOU now".
Here are a few names to throw out:
Bill Garrett, Dave Shinkevitz, John, Steve and Lisa Biemer, James Wright, Kerry Hoover, Gerry Weinholt, Mark and Todd Genofski, Debbie Baldwin, Kim Collison & Mark(Sayampanathan)
Where are you all?

Be sure to check out www.rodharrsion.com, great pesonal web site. Rod had a great quote, "...times you were able to spend with great Christian friends..."

Time really has not seperated us, when you hold people dear to your heart. His list of people is so good, many names, very important people. May there be great re-connections!

I think a true test of any relationship is the test of time, and after nearly 25 years I still have strong relationships with many of the people I knew in Powerhouse. In fact, like many of my long-time Powerhouse friends, I married a Powerhouse Girl! Debbie (nee Joynes) and I now have 4 children: Jessica (16), Jonathan (13), Julianna (11), and Jenna (7).

Blessings!
Barry

Hey, everybody!! How cool to catch up with people from the past. It was great to hear from Jeff Ellwood. I'm SO thrilled about your little miracle. How awesome our God is. Powerhouse certainly was an incredible time in my life. What awesome prayer and worship we had!!! It is very comforting to be able to look back at those years and know that it was then that my walk with Jesus became real. What a boost to my faith to remember the pure worship we experienced. Just to let you know, that incredible prayer and worship continues at Trinity - still on Fridays at 8. If you have a teen who needs a youth group it is a great place to experience God. It is very cool to be involved with the teens and see God work in their lives. My children are Stephanie (15), Emily (13), Andrew (10) and Jared (6). I would love to hear from some of the ladies of Powerhouse. Let us know what's going on in your lives.

I stumbled across this site while "googling" Dr. Doeller's name. I'm sorry I missed his funeral. I so wish to have seen him one more time. We moved to Philly back in 1988, then to West Va. in 1993, then Northern Va. near Wash. D.C. in 1994, then Omaha, Ne. in 2002, and back to Va/D.C. in late 2002. Dave and I have 5 children: Philip - 16, Rachel - 14, Renae - 11, Nicole - 6, Natalie - 3. It is nice to hear little bits about all the former Powerhouse members. Last I saw Mark and Laurie was when we visited some church in Delaware where Mark was a guest speaker; we were living in Philly at the time. David is still in construction and, recently, back with Kiewit in their Federal Department which we hope will keep us local and not moving all over. I am busy homeschooling all 5 kids. We attend a Sovereign Grace church in Fairfax. This group of churches was started years ago by C.J. Mahaney and Larry Tomzak. We attended one in Philly as well.

Greetings everyone in the name of our Lord Jesus. My name is Bill Karidias and I was part of Powerhouse from 84' on. I and Ed Ducote started the weight lifting fellowship that began at Trinity and grew to the point that Coach Phil Albert had given us full access to the football weight room at Towson University. God did some amazing things thru that group. I have many fond memories about the times of worship and fellowship at Powerhouse and how God moved in such awesome ways.

I have since founded my own company located in Joppa Maryland call Equipment Distributors, Inc. www.EDIsales.com which specializes in construction equipment. I am married with three awesome children.

I remember once when Mark Muirhead had visited the weight lifing fellowship and asked me to train him. I put him thru a lower body workout and taught him how to do deep knee bend squats. After that one workout he was so sore he never returned again.

Hope you forgave me Mark. I was so enjoy to hear from you again.

Great to see so many familiar names! Chris and I were just remembering some of the ol'Powerhouse days the other week. Extremely fond memories of a very unique youth group.

Hi, there!
Thanks to Lisa (Biemer) Escaffi for forwarding this link. I've really enjoyed remembering such an awesome time in my life.

I am currently working at Social Security as a senior systems security manager. My husband just retired from the Navy (go Navy!) this year and is now a consultant in Northern Virginia. We are expecting our first child - a little girl - this December.

My sister Debbie is a lawyer. She worked in Canada for 6 years as a COO of a software company but we finally convinced her to return home to Baltimore. I'm glad she will be here for the birth of her niece!

God Bless!
Kim Baldwin Sparks (10-13-08)
